The purpose of establishing the Wrocław Regional Branch of ITS Polska is to intensify research, development, and implementation activities in the areas of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), SmartCity, road safety, sustainable mobility and logistics, and autonomous vehicles, with a particular emphasis on UAV and UGV. The branch will operate in accordance with the Association’s statute, and its activities will also include the possibility of recruiting members from neighboring voivodeships, should they not develop their own regional unit in the long term.
The core element of the initiative is the establishment of the “NeuroLab” Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, whose mission will be to develop innovative technological solutions, implement pilot installations, and test them. Artificial intelligence technologies, including machine learning and neural networks, will play a key role in the projects implemented by the Wrocław branch, with an emphasis on dual-use solutions for both the civilian and defense sectors. The initiators of the project emphasize that collaboration between scientific institutions, public administration, and entities from the transport and infrastructure sectors will contribute to building a strong, modern innovation ecosystem in the Lower Silesia region and Western Poland.
