At the end of October 2021, the system of vehicle counting devices for continuous vehicle traffic counting (SCPR) on the roads of Lower Silesia, managed by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Wroclaw, was launched. Ten stations equipped with NeuroCar LOOP – Model 4 – recording devices were launched, along with a built-in continuous quality control system. The task of the SCPR stations is to monitor traffic at a given point (27/4) and provide daily aggregated measurement data.
The task was carried out within the framework of the public contract “Restoration, commissioning and operation of continuous traffic measurement stations (SCPR) in 2020-2023 located on roads administered by the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways in Wroclaw”. As part of the contract, equipment was reconstructed and/or installed in locations:
Each location is equipped with the latest generation device – the NeuroCar LOOP Model 4 vehicle counter, which uses a set of inductive loops placed in the road surface to detect and classify vehicles. Analysis of signals from the loops is carried out in real time (on Edge) based on a dedicated neural network model. In addition, an image provided by a reference camera is taken for each vehicle, making it possible to verify the quality of vehicle detection and classification in the provided data.
